Gracias a su ubicación en el Parque Natural de la Sierra Crestellina, esta casa es un maravilloso santuario contra estrés cotidiano. El paisaje es impresionante y vivir aquà en tu propio pequeño paraÃso tan cerca de la naturaleza es un verdadero refugio difÃcil de encontrar. Sin embargo, al mismo tiempo, si desea pasar un dÃa en la playa o jugar en uno de los muchos campos de golf de la zona, está a sólo un corto trayecto en coche de todas la variedad de servicios e instalaciones que la costa ofrece.
En 1989, la Sierra Crestellina fue declarada Espacio Natural Protegido, siendo un Paraje Natural. Esta tradicional casa de piedra de 100 años de antigüedad se encuentra en medio de toda esta belleza y solÃa ser el hogar de una familia de agricultores. Se encuentra justo al norte de Casares (3 km) - un pintoresco pueblo muy andaluz, con un verdadero laberinto de casas encaladas, pequeñas calles, estrechos callejones, y plazas. Casares tiene muchas tiendas, buenos restaurantes y bares de tapas. Viajando hacia el norte, se llega a la antigua ciudad de Ronda, con su impresionante Tajo, o haciendo un viaje más largo, a la hermosa y legendaria ciudad de Sevilla. Hay muchas otras opciones de hacer turismo a sólo un dÃa de viaje también.
Para aquellos que les gusta caminar, hay muchas rutas de diferentes dificultades. Hay varios caminos que puede seguir, pero no se pierda el que lleva a la cima de la Sierra Crestellina pues las vistas son espectaculares y abarcan continentes. Escoja un dÃa despejado y, una vez allÃ, tendrá impresionantes vistas de 360º sobre los pueblos de Casares, GaucÃn y sobre el Mar Mediterráneo, Gibraltar y Marruecos. La zona es un paraÃso para los amantes de las aves, donde muchas variedades de pájaros pueden ser avistados sobrevolando en lo alto. Los buitres y las águilas se pueden observar desde el mirador de los Buitres. Incluso se puede vislumbrar algún ciervo, cabra montesa o jabalÃ. A la casa se accede por un camino de tierra (en buen estado) y está emplazada en una magnÃfica finca de 4,8 hectáreas con exuberantes bosques de alcornoques, olorosos pinos y castaños y prados de flores silvestres. La piscina privada se acompaña de tumbonas de teca y está rodeada de encantadores jardines y altos cipreses. Se armoniza maravillosamente en el paisaje y parece una primavera natural donde se puede descansar en las tardes de sol disfrutando de un cielo azul prÃstino con águilas deslizándose por encima de su cabeza. En la entrada de la casa hay una terraza con suelo de piedra, el lugar ideal para comer al aire libre disfrutando de los exuberantes jardines. Está equipada con una barbacoa, mesa, sillas y una sombrilla que ofrece sombra. La amable y servicial propietaria de la casa, Kate, también vive en la finca de vez en cuando. La casa tiene una ubicación privada, y no verá a Kate excepto para darle la bienvenida y ayudarle, si es necesario.
En el interior, la casa es un refugio romántico que ha sido amueblado con buen gusto por Kate, la propietaria, proporcionando un buen nivel de confort y un ambiente rústico con techos con vigas de castaño y suelos rosa de terracotta. La casa cuenta con una cama de matrimonio âking-sizeâ y bonitos muebles en una espaciosa planta abierta de sala de estar/dormitorio con una zona para sentarse equipada con TV, DVD y equipo de música. Una puerta arqueada antigua a la izquierda conduce a un cuarto de baño colorido con azulejos andaluces pintados a mano. A la derecha está la cocina equipada con 4 quemadores de gas, horno, frigorÃfico/congelador, tostador y hervidor de agua. Hay una dependencia en el exterior, pero dentro de la misma finca, con lavadora, plancha y tabla de planchar (de uso compartido con la casa ref. Casares 001). Se ofrece una cesta de bienvenida e Internet WiFi (gratuitos).

The villa is set in a wooded valley with wonderful views across to the Sierra Cresallina. A short walk takes you to a very private swimming pool with fantastic views up to the hills. Good walking and wonderful birdlife. Plenty of migrating birds when we arrived in September bringing eagles, falcons and hawks as well as resident griffon vultures. We planned to travel a lot and never did, preferring to stay put and enjoy the locality with occasional trips to the beautiful nearby town of Casares. The accommodation is rustic but lovely - good shower and small kitchen and you'll sit outdoors much of the time.

Paradise in the Mountains
We spent almost 3 weeks at the idyllic cottage in the mountains above Casares. The location is perfect for ensuring total relaxation with amazing views, great sounds of goats with bells and the company of two lovely dogs, Alfie and Emily. Overhead, eagles glide in the most balletic of movements. Kate, the owner, is very, very helpful from the initial stages of booking and throughout the stay. There are plenty of amazing places to visit around this region, equally great places to walk and on those days off when you want to chill, there is a lovely private pool where you can sit and read or snooze. We have had one of the most relaxing holidays ever and while the short road presented an initial challenge, I had it mastered in no time at all. Casares is a stunning little village. You will find most things you require there but within a short trip to Sabinillas you will find a range of supermarkets. Estepona is close by too. If you seek something a little more expensive, take a look at Sotogrande. We didn't like it but accepted that it would appeal to a certain type of person. Take a look anyways. Coming to this cottage will ensure that you relax. It is a very special place. Enjoy.

The most relaxing holiday ever
I stayed here for almost two weeks with my teenage daughter. This cottage is a rare find - a holiday cottage just for two, in unspoiled, private, peaceful, tranquil surroundings, with spectacular mountain views and its very own private, beautiful, swimming pool. This property has all those things. The cottage is reached by a mountain track, which although is a bit daunting at first, is absolutely no problem. Its position up the mountain is what gives it its views, charm and beauty. This is the kind of place that you do not need to leave, just reading, swimming and being by the pool surrounded by such beautiful nature ensures total relaxation. Nearby is the pretty small town of Casares where a handful of simple restaurants are available for meals. We used the Carrefour in nearby Estepona for grocery shopping, about a 25 minute drive away, it is closed on Sundays though so if you plan to arrive on a Sunday take enough food to get you through the first day. Actually my advice for this cottage is arrive in Spain, go to the grocery store and buy all you for a week, go to the cottage and enjoy! The cottage is simple but decorated in a traditional, pleasing way with all mod cons and excellent WIFI availability for those who need it. The little kitchen is well stocked with utensils etc. for easy cooking. The thick walls of the cottage and a simple fan ensure the cottage stays cool even though temperatures can be high during the day. Kate the English owner was on hand if we needed her and responded to all my queries / requests immediately. She was very kind and helpful, living in the house next door, but did not intrude in our privacy at all. We flew into Malaga and hired a car, then used the toll highway to reach the cottage, the tolls are about 15 euros one way to the cottage but well worth it as the highway is fast and quiet. Just make sure you have euro change available , there are 3 toll booths between the airport and the cottage turn off. We visited Ronda, about an hourâs drive away through spectacular scenery, well worth a visit to this historic beautiful town. We had a truly wonderful holiday, it is the perfect place to unwind and recharge, we will be returning!

A little jewel of a hide-away in the Andalucian mountains!
We spent a week at this wonderful little place away from it all. It's an ideal place for a couple looking for a somewhere to be in peace and at ease. A place with a view down the valley and beyond, with just enough amenities to make you feel comfortable in a rustic, down-to-earth way. And with a wonderful, secluded pool all to yourselves on top of that. For those in fond of hikes in nature, the area has a lot to offer: paths and trails crisscross the nature reserve surrounding the cottage. It's a rural area with sheep and goats roaming the hillsides, and you can be quite certain to be woken up at least one morning by the neighbour's rooster :-) The picturesque white village of Casares is three kms down the road / track from your place, and well worth to explore as well. And if you still long for city life, Marbella and Gibraltar are conveniently close by. The online booking with Kate the owner was totally hassle free and efficient. In short: a stay we utterly enjoyed, and highly recommend to others!
