This traditional Spanish âfincaâ has been in hands of the same family for several centuries. Itâs located with The Sierra de Hornachuelos Nature Park, one of the best conserved areas of Mediterranean riverine forest anywhere in the Sierra Morena Mountains. The park is home to one of Andalusia's largest colonies of black and griffon vulture, but several varieties of eagles and black storks also nest here. Other animals you could see are the otter, Egyptian mongoose, deer and boar. Needless to say that many beautiful walks can be made in the area, but you can also practice many other activities such as kayaking, multi-adventure, mountain biking and horse-riding.In the village of Hornachuelos, just 3 km away, you will find family-run shops, restaurants and tapas bars. Nearby is also the Castel of Almodovar, where the seventh season of Game of Thrones was filmed. At less than an hour drive, you can reach the beautiful Andalucian cities of Cordoba and Seville.The estate covers an area of 60 ha (148 acres) and forms part of a hunt of 580 ha. The main house has a built area of 280 sq. m. Next to the main house is an annex where the guard lives, who will not interfere in your privacy. The outside areas include a spacious lawn garden, private pool (6 x 12 m), a beautiful veranda with lush vegetation and an orange tree - covered patio (patio de los naranjos). A barbeque, 8 sun loungers and patio furniture are provided.
Inside, there is good comfort in a hunting ambiance, hence the collection of antlers and trophies on the walls of the different lounges within the main house. There is a large dining room, although you can also dine in the spacious kitchen fully equipped with gas hob, microwave, electric oven and dishwasher. A freezer and second fridge are place in the scullery, whilst the washing machine is placed in a utility room. The main house provides 8 sleeps in 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin. There are 2 ensuite showers with WC and washbasin and a third shower room with WC and double washbasin.Across the âpatio de los naranjosâ you will find a 5th bedroom with an independent entrance that can be used by with an extra charge. Since this bedrooms offers bunk beds for 4 person, we consider itâs best as a bedroom for the kids who will be delighted to sleep a bit apart of the parents!The Cortijo is provided with central heating in and an open fireplace in one of the lounges. A WiFi connection is provided (free of charge). Please note that mobile coverage is limited, most of the time you will be able to find a spot in the garden or house with weak coverage.
